The Camera Loves Me

If your group loves taking selfies, this is the perfect game for you!

Overview:

  • # of Participants: 8+
  • Where to Play: Indoors
  • Age of Participants: Middle School / High School
  • Approximate Time to Play: 20 to 30 minutes
  • Materials: Your Phone, 2 Additional Phones

How to Play:

Split your group up into teams of between 4 and 6 people, the more people you have the better. Have each group send one representative up to the leader, who will then show them a group of people posing for a photo in a unique way. The representative’s job is to remember how everyone is standing in the example image, run back to their team, and then pose them to recreate the picture. The representative can run back to the leader to refresh their memory as many times as they want to, but no one else is allowed to see what the finished product looks like. After the representative is happy with where they’ve placed everyone, they will take out their own phone and take a picture. The first team to show the leader an accurate recreation gets a point!

See the file below where we’ve provided example poses for groups of three to five people. Remember that one of the team members is going to be taking the picture, so however many people are in the group minus one is what you’ll want to use.

Tips:

Make sure you only give a team the point if they’ve faithfully recreated the picture. If they’ve got someone in the wrong place, or doing the wrong thing, or even if they’re doing the correct thing but with the wrong hand, send them back to fix it. This makes the game a little harder and much more fun.

After this game is over, you will have a ton of funny pictures of your group that are perfect for hanging up in your space!
