The Inspiration Behind Same Page
If you ever played the Wii, you may remember a channel called the Everybody Votes Channel.
The concept was simple: you would receive a prompt like, “Which do you like more, burgers or hot dogs?” First, you chose your personal answer. Then, you tried to predict what the majority of participants would select.
Even if you personally preferred hot dogs, you might predict that burgers would be the more popular choice. After everyone voted during a set window, the results were revealed, and you found out whether your opinion matched the majority.
This activity takes that same premise and adds a meaningful spin for your youth group.
How to Play
This youth group voting game is built around two rounds of responses for every question.
Step 1: Collect Personal Responses
The leader reads a question to the group, such as:
“Do you like hanging out in big groups, or do you prefer one-on-one time?”
Players quietly record their personal answer. At this stage, the response is purely about what they think, it does not affect their score. The leader collects everyone’s responses.
Step 2: Predict the Majority
Now the leader asks players to predict what the majority of the group selected in the first round.
When a player believes they know which answer was more popular, they grab one of the provided answer tokens and sit down. To reveal the results:
-
Players physically stand on the side of the room that represents their original vote.
-
Anyone who correctly predicted the majority answer exchanges their token for a point.
Players earn one point for each correct prediction.

Discussion Opportunity
In addition to competition, Same Page creates natural opportunities for connection.
Because players physically stand with others who answered the same way, they visually see who they share common ground with.
You can also:
-
Ask players to explain why they chose one answer over another
-
Explore deeper follow-up questions
-
Use the activity to spark meaningful group discussion
The questions vary in depth, allowing you to adjust the tone from lighthearted to thoughtful depending on your group.
