Who’s really doing the drawing…
Overview:
- # of Participants: 10+
- Where to Play: Indoors/Outdoors
- Age of Participants: Middle School / High School
- Approximate Time to Play: 30 to 45 minutes
- Materials: Kickball, Rubber bases (or painters tape for bases), Plastic wrap – about 30 linear ft per person
How to Play:
This game is very similar to regular pictionary but instead of there being a team of guessers and one artist, there is a team of “artists” and only one guesser.
Split your group into teams of 4-6 people, and have each one come up with a team name! Send one representative from each team out of the room – they will be the guessers for the first round. Tell the rest of the group what they need to draw, and make sure to keep the drawings simple (e.g., a bird, a house, a pencil). Then bring the guessers back in.
Everyone on the team, except for the guesser, will collectively hold the team’s whiteboard. The guesser will then take a marker and hold it firmly in place so that it’s making contact with the whiteboard. The team will need to move the whiteboard around the guesser’s marker, so that they can create the desired image. The guesser has to figure out what their team is trying to create, and whichever guesser figures it out first earns a point for their team.!
Play for as long as you want or set a point limit. Whichever team has the most points, wins!
Tips:
Remember to remind the guesser that they need to keep the marker firmly in place, or else it’s even harder for their team to draw, and if you have extra adult help, giving each group one supervisor can go a long way.
